PRIVACY POLICY

1. What We Collect

Nothing. Lokei does not collect, transmit, store, or process any personal data on Lokei servers. Period.

Specifically, Lokei does not collect:

• Your conversations or messages
• Files or documents you share with Lokei
• Your name, email, or any account information
• Usage statistics or analytics
• Device information or identifiers
• Crash reports sent to us
• Location data
• Any other personal information

2. How Lokei Works

Lokei is a private local-first AI assistant for Mac and iPhone. On supported devices, Apple Intelligence can process requests on device. In local server mode, Lokei talks to an OpenAI-compatible server running on your own Mac or local network, typically at localhost:11434 on Mac or a private Wi-Fi address from iPhone.

The iPhone app accepts local/private server addresses only, such as localhost, .local hosts, 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, 172.16-31.x.x, and local/private IPv6 addresses. Lokei does not operate a relay server and does not receive a copy of prompts, attachments, responses, recordings, or files.

3. Data Storage

Lokei stores your chat history, preferences, memory/project context, and app settings locally using the operating system's standard app storage. On Mac, that means the app's local macOS storage. On iPhone, that means the app's local iOS sandbox. This data:

• Stays on your device unless you send a message to your configured local-network server
• Is only accessible by you
• Can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data
• Is not synced by Lokei to any cloud service

Attachments, imported files, images from Photos or Camera, custom backgrounds, microphone input, speech recognition results, and generated chat content are handled inside the app or sent to the selected on-device/local-network AI backend as part of the conversation you start.

4. Third Party Services

Lokei does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. There are no SDKs, trackers, or beacons embedded in the app.

Lokei can use Apple Intelligence on supported devices and local-network model servers you configure yourself, such as Ollama or LM Studio. Apple, Ollama, LM Studio, and any local server tools you run have their own terms and privacy policies. Lokei does not receive data from those services.

5. Permissions

The iPhone app may request permissions only when a feature needs them:

• Local Network: used to find or connect to your Mac or local AI server.
• Microphone and Speech Recognition: used for voice input and dictation.
• Photos, Camera, and Files: used when you choose images, documents, attachments, or custom backgrounds.

Lokei does not use these permissions for tracking, analytics, advertising, or background data collection.

6. App Store Distribution

Lokei is being prepared for Apple distribution on Mac and iPhone. When downloaded through Apple platforms, Apple handles download, purchase, and subscription records. Lokei does not receive your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs Apple's handling of Apple account and purchase data.

7. Children's Privacy

Lokei does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no data at all, there is nothing to protect.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this privacy policy, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Given that our policy is "we collect nothing," we don't anticipate meaningful changes.
